i attended the very first international aids confce Lusaka in 1986 as i was working in Zambia.Politics suppressed facts.now 24yrs after, we are still saying awareness, prevention, developed and developing, HAART for all.end july BillGates declared that funds were scarce.and these biennial AIDS confces to prove what/ are costing billions in time and money and energy.what exactly is the science and practice of disease prevention? 90% of these infections are due to promiscuity. and 20% useless condoms. and impractical waste of funds about male circumcision.and the wonderful female condom.only readers who have visited the epileptic whores [M*A*S*H*]will understand condom non-use.# yes research must go on, for who knows what will turn up.but conferences, seminars, have taught me much less than the word, spoken/written, available everywhere.and the net result?:"What AIDS 2010 SEEMS to have shown is that the science of HIV prevention is NOW BEGINNING to yield major successes. Whether the AIDS community has the right strategies to translate those successes into policies remains to be seen." .after 24 years!!!! Note the huge uncertainities.
